    PRIVATE ROBERT ROWLAND BARKER 1/4th East Yorkshire regiment 1540 entered France with BEF killed 27th May 1918 won the silver star regimental number 1540 200178 KIA Flanders Soissons Memorial Soissons, Departement de l’Aisne, Picardie, France his remains lie elsewhere unknown. Memorial Id 56064332 During 1918 The Battle of St Quentin, The Actions at the Somme Crossings, The Battle of Rosieres, The Battle of Estaires, The Battle of Hazebrouck, The Battle of the Aisne. By July they were reduced to Cadre and sent to defend communication lines at Dieppe

    Four children Nellie, Millicent MatiIda Lillian, & Harold Rowland.
    Married 1st qtr.1900 Nellie Bellamy born 8th Sept 1884 his widow collected £43 12s 8d from the army
